The Varec 9760 Tactical Mobile Computer (TMC) is designed for fuel supply officers, petroleum operations NCOs, forward logistics managers, aviation fueling teams, and disaster-response coordinators who need fuel accountability at the point of operation in conditions that defeat standard laptops.
Unlike a commercial notebook pressed into tactical service, the 9760 TMC is tested to MIL-STD-810G for drop, vibration, humidity, and temperature, sealed to IP65 against dust and water jets, and fitted with a 14-inch FHD anti-glare display readable in direct sunlight.
Connected to the 8250 Tactical Interface Converter via RS232 or USB, the TMC consolidates data from every 8240 TDU and 7660 Tactical Fuel Gauge on site into a single operator view: real-time inventories, receipt and issue transactions, and daily accountability reports.
Each unit ships with FuelsManager® Defense pre-installed and configured by Varec engineering for the specific fuel point, so the operator connects, powers on, and has full visibility within minutes. Optional mobile broadband and GPS enable connected reporting.
Approved for normal locations in the USA and Canada and SGS certified, the 9760 TMC is the command-layer element of the TacFuels stack running through the 7660 TFG, 8240 TDU, and 8250 TIC.
Tested to military drop, vibration, humidity, and temperature standards aligned with MIL-STD-810G expectations, supporting reliable operation in environments typical of forward fuel sites.
Fully sealed against dust ingress and protected against water jets, keeping electronics and the display functional during sandstorms, driving rain, and harsh expeditionary conditions.
A 1920 × 1080 anti-glare screen with Direct-Vue technology delivers readable operator visibility in direct sunlight where standard laptop displays wash out.
Varec engineering installs and configures FuelsManager® Defense for the specific fuel point before shipment, so the TMC is operational on arrival without on-site setup.
Via the 8250 TIC to site 8240 TDUs and 7660 Tactical Fuel Gauges, the TMC consolidates inventory, transactions, and daily reports into one console.
Mobile broadband and GPS options enable network-connected daily reporting and location-aware fuel accountability across distributed fuel points.

Yes. The 14-inch FHD display uses Direct-Vue anti-glare technology to remain readable in direct sunlight, and the IP65-sealed enclosure keeps electronics protected in open-air expeditionary control areas.
The TMC connects to the 8250 Tactical Interface Converter via the included RS232 cable (TF232COM) or optionally via USB. The 8250 TIC is the bridge between the TMC and the field 8240 TDUs and 7660 Tactical Fuel Gauges. The TMC does not connect directly to TDUs or gauges.
Yes. FuelsManager® Defense supports data transfer to FuelsManager® enterprise systems, enabling tactical-level inventory and transaction data to be consolidated at command level for daily accountability reporting.
Strapping tables and configuration data reside in the non-volatile memory of the 8240 TDUs, not on the TMC. If the TMC is powered down or swapped with another unit pre-configured for the same fuel point, the system resumes normal operation without re-strapping tanks.
The 9760 TMC is the operator console of the TacFuels stack: 7660 Tactical Fuel Gauge at the tank, 8240 Tactical Data Unit at each tank, 8250 Tactical Interface Converter as the aggregator, and the 9760 TMC running FuelsManager® Defense as the operator view. The four elements are designed to work together as a complete fuel-point accountability system.
Yes. For permanent or semi-permanent installations where full ruggedization is not required, a standard-duty computer running the same FuelsManager® Defense software is available. A Varec sales representative can help determine the right configuration.
The 9760 TMC is tested to MIL-STD-810G for drop, vibration, humidity, and temperature, sealed to IP65 against dust ingress and water jets, approved for normal locations in the USA and Canada, and SGS certified.
With over a century of fuel measurement and accountability heritage, Cognesense continues to deliver the operator-facing element of the TacFuels system through the Varec 9760 Tactical Mobile Computer. MIL-STD-810G program testing, IP65 sealing, a 14-inch sunlight-readable display, and FuelsManager® Defense pre-configured by Varec engineering turn the 9760 TMC into a deployable fuel-point console. Paired with the 7660 TFG, 8240 TDU, and 8250 TIC, it is trusted wherever you need to measure, monitor, and protect what matters most.
