Get a Quote

EVO 1610

The evo 1610 Microwave Radar Gauge delivers highly accurate, non-contact level measurement for terminal operators, refinery engineers, custody-transfer specialists, and EPC project teams.

The gauge provides 0.5 mm custody-grade accuracy and OIML R85 certification, ensuring audit-ready measurements for storage tanks and inventory management.

Unlike traditional pulse radar or servo gauges, the evo 1610 uses 10 GHz Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar technology. This allows it to deliver stable, drift-free level readings that are not affected by vapor, foam, agitation, or temperature changes.

With infrared remote calibration and multi-protocol communication capabilities, the evo 1610 simplifies commissioning, reduces maintenance downtime, and provides long-term operational reliability for tank gauging applications worldwide.

Features

FMCW Technology

Frequency-modulated continuous wave radar measures level via frequency shift rather than pulse reflection, remaining unaffected by pressure, temperature, or vapor composition.

Accuracy & Resolution

± 0.5 mm accuracy with 0.1 mm resolution ensures audit-ready custody-transfer data and detects

Remote Calibration

The MCG 2150 Remote Calibrator enables safe, wireless setup without opening explosion-proof enclosures.

Protocol Integration

HART, Modbus, RS-485, and Tankway communications simplify integration with DCS/PLC and legacy systems.

Global Certifications

FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals ensure worldwide compliance and faster project approvals.

Environmental Performance

Non-contact radar eliminates product contamination, lowers VOC emissions, and reduces maintenance.

Applications

  • Custody Transfer: Inaccurate measurements cause costly disputes. evo 1610’s ± 0.5 mm accuracy ensures fair trade and reconciled inventories.
  • Chemical Storage: Corrosive vapors attack contact sensors. The non-contact radar design minimizes fouling and extends gauge life.
  • Foamy Liquids: Foam disrupts ultrasonic readings. FMCW radar penetrates foam and vapor for continuous, reliable results.
  • Process Monitoring: Multi-protocol output allows real-time inventory visibility and predictive maintenance integration.
  • Cryogenic & High-Pressure Service: Rapid temperature or dielectric changes affect capacitance probes. evo 1610 automatically compensates for these variations.
  • Refined Products Storage: Provides reliable, drift-free level measurement across gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other finished products to support safe loading, blending, and tank-farm operations.

Why is the EVO 1610 considered custody-grade?

The evo1610 achieves 0.5 mm accuracy and holds the OIML R85-1 & R85-2 certification. This official certification, combined with its high resolution, verifies that the measurement integrity is sufficient for high-value commercial transactions, reducing financial disputes and simplifying regulatory audits.

How does FMCW technology outperform traditional pulse radar in challenging conditions?

+

FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave) constantly transmits and processes a signal via frequency shift, which provides a much stronger and more stable measurement than the intermittent reflection used by pulse radar. This allows the evo 1610 to penetrate foam and ignore vapor density changes while maintaining accuracy, especially important in agitated process vessels.

Can the gauge be configured without opening the housing?

+

Yes. The evo1610 is designed for safety and efficiency. Configuration and diagnostics are performed using the MCG 2150 Infrared Remote Calibrator. This allows field technicians to communicate wirelessly with the gauge from the ground, ensuring the explosion-proof seal remains intact and enhancing worker safety.
