UK distributor Campbell Associates has close ties with major contractor Mace, which began work at 40 Leadenhall Street in mid-2020 after demolition firm Keltbray cleared the Leadenhall triangle. The build delivers two stepped towers of 14 and 34 storeys across 900,000 sq. ft. — a project nicknamed Gotham City.
Sonitus Systems — a Cognesense brand — and UK partner Campbell Associates deliver certified noise and vibration monitoring on major UK construction projects. At Gotham City, the deployment is built around the EM2030 Sound Level Monitor, AVA Trace vibration monitors (Swedish partner AVA Monitoring), and the Sonitus Cloud platform.
One partner. Every obligation. Legacy meets future.
Centrally located in the City of London, the site sits among sensitive neighbours — bars, offices, banks, and St. Katharine Cree Church. Protecting these buildings and their occupants is a top priority across the three-year build, and Mace turned again to Sonitus Systems and Campbell Associates.
Eleven monitoring devices were installed across seven measurement locations: four EM2030 Sound Level Monitors and seven AVA Trace vibration monitors, all connected to the Sonitus Cloud platform — giving the project team real-time data on environmental compliance and vibration events.
The AVA Trace devices have logged data continuously to Sonitus Cloud since mid-April 2020. Long battery life and instant event notifications make them an excellent tool for managing vibration on site.
The Mace team selected the audio capture feature on the EM2030. When noise exceeds a preset threshold, the monitor records a short audio clip — letting the team listen back and identify exactly which activity drove the highest levels.
